Back in our cocoon...

And to all a guten nacht! Zzzzzzzzzzzz...

Candy, candy...

...tastes best at the end of the evening. This supersized macaroon
weighed about 5 lbs. Its remains are still resting next to us as we
type this blog at the Cocoon Hotel while watching 'Men in Trees'
dubbed into German. Ugh!

Sun goes down, and the beer halls light up!

...another liter of beer

...we lost count. Probably #3...

Jana playing with Biene Maja

...one of her favorite German cartoon characters.

A wide selection of sketchy & nauseating fair rides!

After liter #2, we decided to pass on the carnival rides. Eeewe.

Caramelized almonds... Are yummy!

"do you like me?"

"I like you so much (beer & pretzel)!"

I heart lederhosen!

Men in lederhosen everywhere!

Heh, heh, heh. A look that can only be hot In Munich! : P

Ok, Jana cheated a little.... Her beer was half sprite, but have no
fear, I went for the real thing!

Festivities in the beer tents!!

We wandered around in the tents, but all the seats were reserved...
Just as content to drink our beer outside in the open air! Phew!

Mmmmmm... Wiesn hendl!!

Half a chicken, and a giant pretzel

Crabs & meow!

(Rachel & pam)... You bitches should be here! :P

Prost to our friends who could not be with us!

Saf & Bev! Prost!

Prost! Liter #1

We walked around, scoped the scene... Abd finally settled in for our
first Augustiner 'mass' (one liter mug) of beer.

The Hippodrome...

We quickly realized that without a reservation, we had to scrounge
around, and hit some of the bert gardens. The main beer tents were all
reserves, and packed!

Beer tents EVERYWHERE!

We wandered around for a while, scoping out the scene...

Beer carts everywhere!

Jana and the pancake castle

Wandering around the fairgrounds...

Beer is not deterred by rain!

Oktoberfest 2008 in Munich!

Woah!

They don't mess around with the high-speed trains! 299km/hr. We will
be in Munich in just about an hour, for what would otherwise be a 2+
hour drive.

On our way!

Back at the train station, coffee and snacks in hand... We boarded the
high-speed train to Munich!
