A PILE of knick-knacks!

While the soup cooked, I set to the task of packing. First, for my own
amusement, I laid out all the things I bought along the way on this
trip.
I am so not a shopper... But for some reason, a lit of little things
jumped out at me a something someone would like... And once you start,
it is IMPOSSIBLE to stop. Argh.

And, the truth is, this pic doesn't even do it justice! 6 tee shirts,
sweatshirt, 8 beer mugs, 6 boxes of marzipan, chocolate, cookies, cans
of sausage, 8 wooden dolls, pencils, ornaments, books, a very fancy
vase, apron, poster, etc, etc.... AND that doesn't even touch the 40+
postcards we sent.

Yes, I shopped. Europe, you can thank me, but I can't wait to get back
to my weak little dollar!

Farmers market chicken soup

For my final night, I made Jana a big vat of homemade chicken soup
(she is still trying to kick the pesky cold she has had for the past
week!). It was fun to sit down for a nice at-home meal, and chat with
Jana & Noah. We have spent so much time on the road this month that
time at-home is a treat!

The gate to the Sussman's apartment building

The ivy on this gate turned red in a matter of days while we were in
Austria!

Fall is here

The New England girl in me is so excited to see the leaves changing
all over town. Makes the quaint old town even cuter.

Final shopping spree in Nuremberg

We both slept in a bit, lingered over tea and breakfast... Then made
on last little jaunt into old town for some final knick knack
shopping. Can't believe all the little trinkets I have aquired this
month, needs to make sure all my bases were covered... But I am
TOTALLY over shopping! Ugh. Wait till you see the pile of sutff I need
to pack up, somehow. Ha.

Hanging out on the roof-deck with a cup of tea, and harry potter

Cobwebs from yesterday are melting away. Enjoying some totally
relaxing time in the sun to relax... And looking forward to meeting up
with the "Friday night" crew again with Jana & Noah later for dinner
and happy hour.

And SUNSHINE!

Sunshine, my long lost friend, so good to see you again! :)

Laundry clean, and hanging out to dry

Friday afternoon... Blog up-to-date

Sweatshirt, fuzzy socks, couch, braindead.

Back "home" in Nuremberg. Tired and glassy-eyed from all the
traveling. The grey skies and rain kinda lulled me into a coma today.
Was a walkimg zombie day 2 in munich (but day 1 made it worthwhile!).
I have seen and done so much in a few short weeks. So fun. So going to
need a vacation to recover from my vacation. Ha. J/k mo... I'll see
you back at work next week. Yikes!! :P

My Big bag of Euro loot...

Wondering how I am going to get it all home!

Tuesday catnaps, laundry, and blogging...

Haven't even left the house today. Been hanging out in my big
sweatshirt, and fleecie socks... Working on the blog, laundry, and
being generally lazy. Might venture out to mail some postcards, but
that idea is 50/50 at best. :P we leave for Munich and "the real
Oktoberfest" in the morning. I need to save up my energy.

We are also debating some plans for the weekend. Now that Saf & Bev
aren't going to make it (we had touristy activities in Nurenberg
planned), we might do one last roadtrip down to Salzburg Austria for
the weekend. We'll see.....

Warm soup!

Hit the grocery store on the way home, and made some mushroom, sausage
and lentil soup for dinner. Was lovely to be relaxed, and "home" for
an evening with the Sussman's.

Nuremberg castle, and a sky about to let loose

Made it back to the northern gate of old town when it started to
drizzle, and looked like the sky was going to let loose! Tucked myself
into a little biergarden, and wrote some postcards while waiting out
the downpour.

More old town Nuremberg

The "Beautiful Fountain"

St. Lorenz Church on the main square

Market square

The street running through the center, Konigstrasse (I think?!) was
crowded with farmers market stands and shoppers. Having rained off and
on all day, I had my eye on the ominous-looking sky!

Old town festival

The area along the river in the southern section of Nuremberg was all set up with food, beer, and knick-knack booths for the annual festival that I am guessing will be in full gear over the weekend.
