temple hike

our post lunch hikee was up to a temple on the hill overlooking the river we had just rafted. it was pretty straight up, by also pretty short.

the caretaker opened the temple for us and tshe tshe walked us up the three floors inside the temple.

the sculptures and paintings inside this temple really floored us. every inch of every wall was covered with the most intricate scenes. I totally respect not taking pictures in this place, but there are also no words to describe all that we saw.

from the roof of the temple, we had a 360° view of the surrounding area, inudung the river we had just floated.

Bhutan us all layers upon layers upon layers of mountains and valleys. the only flat ground in this country are the river beds.
